Sabrina Rocha is an Argentine dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She began her artistic path as a child in gymnastics, and during her teenage years developed a growing interest in dance. She later continued her training in Buenos Aires with various teachers and at the University of the Arts, focusing on ballet and contemporary dance. Sabrina received scholarships to continue her studies in New York at Ajkun Ballet and Steps on Broadway. In Argentina, she worked independently with directors and independent choreographers in Buenos Aires.
In 2020, she moved to Berlin to continue developing her professional career. Since then, she has performed in theaters such as the Staatsoper Berlin, the Semperoper Dresden, the Salzburg Festival, and the Stuttgart Theaterhaus, where she has worked with renowned directors such as Romeo Castellucci, Christoph Loy, Maraime Clement, Claus Guth, Ted Huffman, and choreographers such as Evelin Facchini, Klevis Elmazaj, Mathieu Guilhaumon, Sommer Ulrikson, and Pim Veulings, among others. She has extensive experience in opera as a performer and currently also as an assistant.
As a freelance dancer, Sabrina performed for three years with Katja Erdmann-Rajski in Stuttgart. She has also collaborated with María Colusi—as a dancer and choreography assistant—on educational programs in Berlin, and has worked with Sasha Waltz, performing in the community project IN C.
Currently, she works closely with Evelin Facchini—renowned opera and theater choreographer—with whom she continues to develop projects as both assistant and performer across Europe.
As an emerging choreographer, Sabrina has created INTERPLAY / JEUX DE MOTS—supported by the Goethe-Institut and developed with Ensemble Kinéticos (France)—as well as Everything Is Fine (a duet with Tiziano Portas) and TENUE (her latest duet work). She is currently collaborating with Javier Blanco at The Edge Company (Berlin). In 2021, she received a grant from the Akademie der Künste Berlin for her project DIALOGO.
She has also worked with interdisciplinary collectives in berlin as a dancer and creator such as Chaos Emblematic and Vola Stage Company.
Her artistic perspective is grounded in a decolonial and feminist framework, and she deliberately avoids separating theater from its social dimensions.
